We at Schumann Inc. Engineering believe that we can provide best value Design, Drafting, and Project Management services by keeping our overhead costs low compared to our competitors. Currently, we have office/build space suitable for eight designers. However, we have access to multiple larger facilities for projects that cannot fit through our office door (as you can see in some of our pictures). We also have basic machine shop capabilities offsite to keep our costs down and provide a quick turnaround for parts needing a milling machine, lathe, or surface grinder.
As we grow, we believe that this principle can keep our overall cost low and provide fast service for our customers. We envision a company structure that has many specialized companies within it. It would be like a machine trades shopping mall. One division would design a part, send it to the machining division, who in turn would send it to our heat-treatment division, etc. This way, overhead stays low within the individual companies, but still has the capability to provide services to each other in an expedient fashion due to cross-company scheduling and borrowing of laborers.
